What Is a Two-Tone Seal and Why Is It So Popular?

If you've been exploring our custom college rings, you've probably come across the option for a two-tone seal—a stunning upgrade that's growing in popularity. But what exactly is it?

What Is a Two-Tone Seal?

A two-tone seal is a unique feature available for some of our custom college rings. It gives the school's logo a raised, 3D effect, making it stand out visually and physically from the background of the seal. What really sets it apart is the option to use two different colors of gold to create a striking contrast between the logo and the base.

How Is a Two-Tone Seal Made?

We create our two-tone seals using a process called two-part casting. This method allows for precise detailing and depth, ensuring the school logo is crisp and elevated. Unlike flat seals, the 3D appearance of a two-tone seal gives your ring a bold, premium look and a texture you can really feel.

Custom Color Options

With a two-tone seal, you can mix and match gold colors to create a look that's uniquely yours. For example, a white gold base with a yellow gold logo makes the design pop with contrast. Or, if you prefer a more subtle effect, you can stick to a single shade of gold—you'll still get the same raised 3D detail that stands out beautifully.

We offer three 14K gold options:

  • Yellow Gold
  • White Gold
  • Rose Gold

What Does It Cost?

Due to the extra material and labor involved in the casting process, the two-tone seal upgrade costs an additional $250. Many customers say the added dimension and color contrast are well worth it for the visual impact it brings.
